Wherever you go...there you are.

Valentine's Day, wow! I know this is going to make hell freeze over and allow pigs to defy gravity, but I decided to go on a date today...yes I kept it a secret from everyone, I am so talented. :) Tragically, this ended my 24 year commitment to not partaking in such endeavors. We had a really good time, although I was nervous as hell...its bad enough when its your first one, but it's even worse when you are 24 and trying to muddle your way through it.
I guess it went well, I'm always critical of myself so I really can't say for certain. We went to the Macaroni Grill (one of her favorites) for dinner. Afterwards, we headed to the movies and saw "A Beatuiful Mind." Pretty good picture, if I do say so myself. Afterwards, I took her back to her place, and no, nothing happened. I was the classic gentlemen (probably best placed in the 50's as opposed to now). Yes, I did pay for everything as well (again, classic boring guy). That's all I'm going to say about the event, if you want more details, you'll just have to wait and ask me when you talk to me next. :)
On other fronts, school and my research position are going well. There is an operating systems project due on Tuesday, so I'll be busy with that for the next few days. In terms of my research position, I'm actaully beginning to better understand what I'm working on and beginning to enjoy working with it. Prof. Austin has been really cool with me so far as he has spent a lot of time walking me through stuff I don't quite get yet. It should be tons of fun as the weeks go on.
I guess that's all I have to say for the moment. I hope everyone had a good Valentine's Day...I know mine was fun. As the true master of rhetoric that I claim to be, I also had the opportunity to fool those who don't know me well enough. You can strike the first two paragraphs from this entry as they never happend. Until the next time I decide to write...

As most everyone knows, I'm not a huge sports fan, but I have my moments. My brother, on the other hand, is a much bigger fan than I, and his favorite football team has been the Patriots for probably six or seven years. He hasn't been such a huge fan over the past few year or so, but, has been recently, obviously.
My mother, always the humerous one, did someting very cool at the beginning of September. She and my dad went to Las Vegas in early September, so for fun, she decided to place a couple bets on the Super Bowl. She put $5 on the Lions to win and $5 on the Patriots to win (for my brother). At the time, I thought that was the funniest thing around, the Lions winning the Super Bowl, hah! As we saw, it wasn't even close. However, the Patriots pulled it off. I was amazed at the time she purchased them that the Lions were a 35:1 shot, and the Patriots were an even longer shot, 75:1. So, when you do the math, my mom won $375 off a $5 bet. Not to shabby! Go Patriots!
